September 01 It Can't be September Already!Well, here it is the first of September. I have yet to finish my infamous Patons sweater. I did finish the Dancing Socks and started on the second sock of a pair that I began a year ago for my DH. Then, of course, I cast on for another pair of socks for me.
I taught the first of a 3-session How to Knit Socks Class at the DQ Tuesday Night. I had two very good students! They both wanted to learn the Magic Loop technique so it was easy to work with them. Hopefully, I will get a few more pupils before the next class next Tuesday.
I really enjoy teaching.
I also did something I consider daring
Now that the weather is turning cooler, I might be able to go back to working on one of the two sweaters. But it depends....it just seems that so much is happening lately.
Well, I had best stop for now. Just thought I'd drop a few lines and see if anyone out there is paying attention.
TTFN

August 24 Talking about Get needled: Knit this easy-to-make scarf - Today Books: Miscellaneous - MSNBC.comWell, after several days of not writing, I thought I would catch up on the news from MSNBC -- here is just one of the stories I found about knitting. It's about a book written by Vickie Howell, host of DIY "Knitty Gritty." Get needled: Knit this easy-to-make scarf - Today Books: Miscellaneous - MSNBC.com http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/13573215/ Like I said on my last blog - I just hate knitting the same thing for long periods of time! I finished the left shoulder on my Paton's Fresco sweater and, sure enough, I am just ready to quit! Hopefully I will finish the darn thing before winter. So, throwing it down, I rummaged through my stash and found a sock that I had barely started. I frogged it, pulled out the directions and began reknitting it. When I took it to the "Twisted Knitters" meeting, Elizabeth thought it might be too big a cuff for my foot. So, it went back into the frog pond and I reknitted the cuff in a 3 by 2 rib. I put the original directions away. Now I have 3 socks on the needles and 2 sweaters. Let's see how many I can complete. DH came home the other night and wanted to know if I had knit any seaman's caps. "Seamans caps!" exclaimed I, "I volunteered to do that ages ago but was never given the directions or instructions." Well, it seems that now the caps are needed by September 2. Dare I start one to complete in 9 days??? Well. I was hoping to add a picture of my knitting here. Check out my photo album. I'll add the Fresco Knitted Sweater and some others for you to see. TTFN.
August 11 Day One -- We'll try itWell, this is it. I am taking my first venture into blogging. It seems like so many of my friends are doing it. So, I'll try it. I write quite a bit for my job so it seems natural to write here.
Today, I am getting ready to finish up work and head to the grocery store then home - where i can work on my newest sweater. It's using ribbon yarn from Patons (I forget the name-will write it tomorrow.) I'll get you a picture of my work in progress tomorrow. This is only my second sweater -- I have knitted DOZENS of socks, scarves, hats, etc.
It just seems that I get to a certain point in a sweater and I quit. Too bored.
Also on the needles are (of course) a pair of socks. I am finishing up a pair of "dancing" from Knit Picks. I have started a toe up sock on size 1s and will head back to that one, once the dancing socks are done.
I also want to take some pictures of my knitted items this weekend. Plus I need to get ready to start teaching Sunday School to 3-5th Graders. This is a new venture for me, too. I have been teaching preschoolers for -- well about 20 years!
Better stop so I can get back to work.
God bless!
